I’ve mentioned before how I’m not normally big on these blog award things, but I received this last one from not one, but TWO different people, so I figured I had to do it 
It was passed on to me by Rita from The Giggly Bits, and also from Sure Shot Evolver, so thanks to both of them.
The requirements for accepting the award are really quite simple:
1. Get really excited that you got the coolest award EVER!
2. Choose ONE of the following options of accepting the OMB award:
(a) Get really drunk and blog for 15 minutes straight, or for as long as you can focus.
(b) Write about your most embarrassing moment.
(c) Write a “Soundtrack of your childhood” post.
(d) Make your next blog a ‘vlog’/video blog. Basically, you’re talking to the camera about whatever.
(e) Take a picture of yourself first thing in the morning, before you do anything else (hair, makeup, etc) and post it.
3. Pass this award onto at least 3, but preferably more, awesome bloggers as yourself. Don’t forget to tell them.
I’ve never done a vlog before, but I’ve definitely thought about it. I’ve just always felt a bit self-conscious about the whole thing, so I’ve never taken the leap and actually done it. I figured this would be as good an excuse as any to just go for it. I’ll warn you, I’m not going to win any vlogging awards anytime soon, but here it is:
To be honest, I’m not real excited with my first vlog (and I probably did 10 takes to get it even this far). I feel like I’m a little uptight in front of the camera, and come across as kind of stiff – I promise I’m not like that in real life! Maybe that just means I need to do more vlogs and get more comfortable talking in front of the camera

Vlogs are HARD!
I tried I think about 20 times to START. I would always screw up, then I took another 20 to get something which didn’t make me look as though I feared some sort of diabolical device coming out of the camera and killing me.
You did great! It’s fun to see/hear people!
LOL and here I did one and couldn’t even stand the thought of doing it again even though I screwed up a blog name. That was great, and what a sweet hubbie to pamper his wife like that! Trapped in my perti dish of germs here I would have loved a break to hack up a lung in private.
And you’re right, it’s neutral, I detect not even a touch of any accent there at all. Alaskans are neutral, Manitobans who live in Alberta talk like Minnesotans and people from Fargo talk like Frances McDormond. Got it! That was confusing.
Awesome job, it was really cool to see you talk! I”m becoming a vlog fan, who knew.

Thanks Mac – I’m definitely looking a lot better than I did 54 pounds ago, but I can also see a fair amount more I’d like to lose. Maybe not 32 pounds worth, we’ll have to see about that… I’ve always considered my goal weight to be somewhat of a moving target.
Dude I may listen to that again tonight to soothe myself to sleep.

Vlogs are weird. For every blog I post, I delete about three, usually because I just sounded stupid (at least to me) during it.

Yep, the vlog was definitely tough. I was very self-conscious and overly critical of both how I looked and sounded. I still think I came across fairly stiff, which is totally not how I’m like in real life. I’ll have to give it another shot here sometime soon, and hopefully come across a bit more natural.

Vlogs are tough to do – I think I recorded the apple eating one about 7 times…at least you didn’t end up blinking like a nerd…

Yep, that’s the other reason I had never done a vlog before – it’s hard to come up with something to talk about that merits a vlog post instead of just a regular post. Definitely looking forward to seeing that post-race vlog some day
Vlogs are definitely akward to start. I tried recording one a couple days ago and it is so foreign to talk to a camera. I will forge ahead because I really think video is a great medium and I want to get good at it. Keep up the good work
