I am the father of 2 – a 2 year old son, and a 1 month old daughter. They are my biggest motivation for wanting to lose weight and live a more healthy lifestyle.

I want to be able to more easily run around and play with them without having to say “sorry kids, daddy has to take a break”.
I want to set a good example for my kids, showing them by example how to eat healthy and live a healthy, active lifestyle.
I want my kids to grow up in a house where the whole family is active together on a regular basis, whether it’s hiking, playing sports, or just taking a walk to the park.
I don’t want my kids growing up eating junk food and sitting in the house playing video games or watching TV all day.
Most of all, I want to make sure that I’m always around for my kids. Obviously, I won’t always be around, but I want to increase my chances as much as possible of dieing of old age 50+ years from now.

That is a GREAT reason to want to lose weight, and they will thank you for it.
You can’t have a better reason than that and it’s one of my reasons. For my kid though not yours!
My reason too. My mother just passed from a stroke at 60 years. This has been a pattern in my family. After my mom, I realized I needed to do something to prevent that from happening to me. I want to see my grandkids and their kids and be an active part of their lives.
My wife’s father passed when she was just a freshman in high school. Her younger brother was only 6 at the time. It pains me to think about my children having to grow up without a dad, so I’m going to do everything I can to make sure I’m healthy and around for a long time!
I love this. You chose the BEST reason to lose weight and get healthy: your kids. That’s such a good lesson to teach them too. They might be too young to understand now, but someday they will. Hopefully this passes on healthy living to them too.
